Run or Walk for AFJ from May 22nd - June 12th!
Join Avenues for Justice for our first-ever AFJ Run for Justice. This virtual run will take place from May 22nd to June 12th, and will help AFJ raise awareness about our mission and raise funds to support our work. No gift is too small, and every donation helps AFJ as we continue to serve some of NYC’s most vulnerable youth.
After you run--LOG YOUR TIME HERE!
As we work together to create a society where justice is possible for everyone, regardless of their race or income, we thank you for your willingness to journey with us.
ABOUT AVENUES FOR JUSTICE: Launched in the 1970s by Lower East Side residents, Avenues for Justice (then known as the Andrew Glover Youth Program) was one of the first alternatives to incarceration (ATI) programs for youth in the US and remains one of the few to have continuous Latinx leadership for 40+ years under Angel Rodriguez. AFJ fought for the Youth Part model that established ATI as the citywide and national standard for youth in the justice system.
Through our 40+ years, we have maintained among the highest success rates in the country - consistently over 90% of our youth do not commit a crime during a post-graduation three-year tracking period. AFJ currently serves 400+ youth offenders and at-risk youth citywide per year at our youth centers in Harlem, the Lower East Side, inside the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse, and via online programs.
